The physician will be responsible for seeing patients in the EmergencyDepartment (ED), managing a high-volume setting, and delivering qualityemergency care. The locums EmergencyMedicine Physician will provide coverage at two local hospitals in Altoona, PA.Shift times vary, including 6 AM to 4 PM, 8 AM to 6 PM, 11 AM to 9 PM, 1 PM to11 PM, 3 PM to 1 AM, 5 PM to 3 AM, or 9 PM to 7 AM. The role involves seeingpatients in the Emergency Department (ED), with an average annual ED volume ofapproximately 45,000 patients and an average of 137 patients per 24 hours. Thephysician will perform a variety of procedures, including intubations, chesttube placements, central lines, joint and fracture reductions, jointaspirations, laceration repairs, and incision & drainage (I&D).
